Methane (Natural Gas) is the preferred option for dual fuel conversion for diesel generators, however we can use other gas sources such as biogas, which can come from sustainable sources. Furthermore, if the diesel generator is operated with vegetable oil a combined installation can be considered green and sustainable.
We have done such installation using biogas obtained by landfill/digester gasses. As well as used a liquid fuel obtained by valorization of fat (valorfat) in addition to biogas.
It is important to note that biogas can have a varied set of properties and may need to be extensively treated to remove elements that would hinder the efficiency of the engine.
